FAQ

SEEKING — Frequently Asked Questions

SEEKING is a free daily word puzzle where you find the hidden word that joins both sides to make two new words. Here are the most common questions, answered.

What is SEEKING?

SEEKING is a free daily word puzzle. Each day you're shown two words with a gap between them, and you find the single hidden bridge word that forms a real compound word with both sides. For example, GROUND ‹ ? › SPACE has the answer WORK (GROUNDWORK and WORKSPACE).

Is SEEKING free?

Yes — completely free to play, no ads, no sign-up needed.

Do I need an account?

No. You can play every day without one. An optional free account just saves your streak and stats across devices.

How often are there new puzzles?

One new puzzle every day at midnight, the same for everyone.

How long does it take to play?

About a minute — it's a quick daily brain teaser.

What's a bridge word?

A word that forms a compound with the word on each side — for example, WORK joins GROUND and SPACE to make GROUNDWORK and WORKSPACE, so WORK is the bridge word.

How do I get a hint if I'm stuck?

SEEKING gives you hints automatically as you play. Every wrong guess reveals a little more — the word length, impossible letters, matching letters, then the last and first letter. We never publish the daily answer. See how the hint system works →

How is it different from Wordle?

In Wordle you guess a hidden five-letter word. In SEEKING you find the word that links two given words to make two new compound words — so it rewards lateral thinking and vocabulary rather than letter-by-letter deduction.

What devices does SEEKING work on?

Any modern web browser on phone, tablet, or desktop. It's mobile-first and installable as a web app, with nothing to download from an app store.

Can I play past puzzles?

Not yet — each day's puzzle is available on the day. A puzzle archive is on the way.
